Anyone else on here using this antenna? I have one mounted on the lift gate of my Escape, with the adjustable trunk mount from Comet. Using a Kenwood THF6A, and I'm lucky if I get a 220 machine for about five or six miles. Maybe I'm asking too much of a quarter wave? :)

I bought one and it works well on 2m compared to a much larger Larsen 2m/440 dual band. 440 is noticeably worse than the Larsen and I think the 220 performance is just fine using a Yaesu VX-8R.

Yes - I have one of these but never use it anymore and have not for a long time.

Its nothing more than a 1/4 wave on 2mtrs and 220 and 3/4 wave on 440.

I am used to gain antennas now but when I did use this antenna I was not
impressed with the performance on 2mtrs or 220 and with the terrible performance
on 440-450 ( the tx rf was at a high angle ) I gave up on it and moved to
the comet line and now use a SB-14 and a dedicated hustler 220 mono-band.
