Hello folks,

We received a submission claiming that Austintown Twp Public Safety trunked system has been rebanded. Can we get some additional confirmation of this?

Thanks

Doesn't look like it was rebanded, but the FCC ULS for their license (ULS License - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Trunked License - WNPK739 - AUSTINTOWN, TOWNSHIP OF) indicates that they may have added 4 frequencies to their system, 856.6125, 857.0875, 857.6125, and 858.1125 from this modification request granted 10/26/2010 ULS Application - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Trunked - 0004388765 - AUSTINTOWN, TOWNSHIP OF - Frequency Summary

The RR database shows 5 channels that still appear in the license. The 4 additional channels added recently make it look like it's now a 9 channel system. Hopefully folks in the area can verify this and see if any changes to the control channels were made as well.

You know, that's what I get for not even bothering to look at the system. It's a YE license, but it was never "rebanded" since there was no such need - It appears to have been an 850 mhz system from the start. All that has happened since it was first licensed was the addition of frequencies and change to YE from YP.

Ok, this case is closed. Thanks for pointing that license out to me.

I'll add the other frequencies to the lineup though.

Looks like the first step in a rebanding license change to me.

Austintown is a non-NPSPAC system, so they are required to vacate the 'lower 120' band (851-854 MHz) in order to clear this block of spectrum to create a new NPSPAC band that currently resides at 866-869 MHz.

Austintown has 4 frequencies that are impacted by rebanding, so they received a license modification for 4 new frequencies out of the 851-854 MHz range.

Once rebanding activities are completed, expect to see another license modification removing 851.8125, 852.8125, 853.3125, and 853.8125.
