Auto dim in XP laptop

I have a Dell Latitude laptop. I am sure I have seen a place to turn off auto dim when on battery. I can not find the place again. I use the laptop outside a lot and display is not bright enough. How do I adjust it?

try control panel then display look on left side click on adjust brightness--or may be in the performance center & tools--click on power settings and balanced setting-- good luck
