Out of curiosity, what difference does it make if the AGC is set to DG or Dg?

What effect would each setting (on or off) have on the radio's reception?

For the TRX-1.

DG: The radio is receiving P25/DMR digital audio with AGC.

Dg: The radio is receiving P25 Phase II digital audio with or without AGC.

Per page 21 of the TRX-1 User Guide.

AGC is Automatic Gain Control. If AGC is turned on it will boost weak/low audio levels.

A couple days ago I ran across this on a mailing list:
Whistler TRX-1 How to Adjust Sound
I found it to be of some use in adjusting the difference in volume between a local Motorola trunked system and a nearby P24 Phase 2 system as monitored on my 1080
Excellent advice... I couldn't have said it better myself. In fact I did say it myself! That post simply pilfered what I had written here a year and a half ago verbatim. Look to RadioReference for the real deal :)
