Listeners in the USA might have trouble with the 8.33 spacing, which is a European channelization plan (not yet implemeted AFAIK) for narrowbanding the VHF air band. The U.S. plan is still 12.5 and if narrowbanded will probably go to 6.25 spacing.

It supports 8.33KHz channels but will work fine on 25KHz channels as used everywhere around the world (including the USA - who don't use 12.5KHz spaced channels?).
In Europe the upper airways are increasingly being allocated 8.33KHz spaced channels. Airfields and low level routes are still 25KHz channels

Sporty's have a nice radio there, but it's really not designed with the scanning enthusiast in mind. It's designed as an AM/FM radio for pilots that want to keep an eye on traffic at their local airport, and it's fine for that. As others have noted, if you really want to listen to aircraft, scanner style, you need at least 100 free channels....at least you do in this area.
