As of right now, this will be the Sheriff's Office and all county VFD's. They are not operational on AWIN yet, it will be a few months before all of their radios are deployed.

City of Malvern will still be operating on their DMR systems for now.

10/17/22 - Looks like AWIN is experiencing some microwave issues in the northeast part of the state so comms in NEA could be affected until they get that sorted out. Just FYI in case you hear departments on backup comms or not much AWIN today; I'm not sure what impact it's having, just that they alerted that they're checking it out.

Microwave backhaul issues could cause lot of BONKS for out of range due to connectivity issues, or Site Trunking issues.

I have a question. Why is Pafford Ems showing up under Polk county, should it be under Howard and Hempstead unless Polk county has went to Pafford instead of Southwest Ems.

Here are 100 transmissions from the 53621 talkgroup. I'm sure someone can figure out the talkgroup.

Most of these talkgroup ID’s in that range have been Pafford or ems related that I have found which scanning. Also some of the other talk groups listed that are unknown on site 5 are city talkgroups.

I have great signal on the Hector tower only and it will stop on that site when an agency is using it but no audio comes out. Very strange. That scanner was programmed by a professional and AWIN works great in Russellville but when I come to Dover great signal no audio.

I was on a VFD in Pope County, even our VHF was spotty near Dover.

Most AWIN traffic I’ve seen is either on the Russellville Water Tower or the site on Skyline Drive. Dover is basically in a spot where reception sucks. Like I said, even our VHF pagers sucked.

That being said, I’d be happy to take a look at your programming file if you need any more help!

Yes, I live in Russellville. All RPD traffic is encrypted... well, actually, on very rare occasions RPD tac2 suddenly pops up with traffic in the clear, but it doesn't happen very often. Also, all ATU Public Safety radio traffic is encrypted - they're the only higher education institution in Arkansas which encrypts their radio traffic. I guess they're special somehow. Anyway, other than RPD and ATU PS, everything else is unencrypted.

Additionally, there is a lot of DMR in our area. Yell County, Johnson County, Conway County, Perry County have almost all of their communications in DMR except for rural fire dispatch. Is your 996p2 DMR capable? Did you get the requisite DMR upgrade?

From being observant, unless you want to sit and listen to nothing but units checking in and out, I don’t know if anyone would want to listen to ATU PS.

Interestingly, today I am hearing them for the first time in the clear (cars and dispatch) on Dispatch 2 (42802). I'm not sure if this is a temporary thing due to AWIN issues or what. I will "stay tuned".

Might be something to do with the reporter gathering data from scanner buffs to build a big news story. Might.

I run a little different set up than most. I actually have a Harris XG-75 radio that I use as a scanner. But those talk groups are programmed into the radio, and I think about an hour or so ago, I got a transmission on 42806

Since Tuesday I have heard nothing. It appears that RPD is back on Dispatch 1 (enc). I imagine there was some issue with AWIN such that they were forced onto Dispatch 2 unencrypted. I moved to Russellville in 2014 and I have monitored RPD talk groups ever since. Other than a few random conversations on Tactical 2, this is the first time (and probably last time) I heard any dispatch activity from Russellville Police Department.
