AWIN Encryption???

Has anyone monitored the AWIN system and heard encryption being used?

I know here locally in Pope County (Russellville) that we use ADP software based encryption for our county's talkgroup (17801 "POPDIS")

I was told by a person that maintains the AWIN system that DES encryption was being used also, but I don't know where...

Anyone?

Negative on Governor's Detail. It is not encrypted.

Unsure about NARC.

I have heard that encryption is (and or can) be used but I too do not know who uses it.

Fort Smith Uses Encryption

Fort Smith PD is currently using encryption on channel 2 and 3. Both channels stay encrypted all of the time, while channel 1 is not encrypted.
