I am looking to program a scanner for my Aunt that lives in Sicamouse, British Columbia and I need to know if I need a digital ready scanner to monitor the RCMP in Sicamouse, Vernon, Salmon Arm,......, and the ambulance.

Thanks in advance, Vance

Hi b lasalle

No you don't need a digital scanner. RCMP Comms are all FM mode. Check the RCMP Frequencies in the British Columbia database under "Royal Canadian Mounted Police" for the North and Southeast district repeaters. Program in all of those repeaters (A-M) and you ought to hear something in most places. Include their simplex channels as well, as I found this was worth it in the past too.

I have these freqs specifically for Salmon Arm and Sicamouse:

RCMP
139.6500 Salmon Arm (Channel M in the DB)

Fire
155.4900 Blind Bay Fire
156.6000 House Boat Talk Around

EMS
150.665 Shuswap EMR
149.1100 100.0Hz CTCSS Fly Hills Repeater (Sicamouse)
149.6800 ITACT 1 (Sicamouse)
