I recently had a conversation with a Denver fire officer He told me that part of this new cash the state is getting to finish the 800 system will be used to add denver to it they are planning to leave the edacs sytsem all together ......................

anyone know any more about this ?[/b]

My guess is he is confused since denver just handed out thousands of jagua 700pi portables to all the officers and that is what both ems and Fd are using also... i don't think they would want anything to do with the state system. The state system doesn't even have the capacity in the metro area to handle denver's requirements for communication requirements.

I thought Denver was using Ma/Com radios----was the format OPEN SKY???

They are using Ma-com radios. That is what a jaguar is.. and as for open sky. That title keeps popping up. Where do you guys keeping coming up with this info. None of the edacs systems in colorado are opensky. They are all plain ol edacs with the exception of Aurora which is provoice... And provoice.. does not equal opensky....

EDACS doesn't equal Open Sky, either. Those are two different 'flavors' of MA/COM radio systems.
