Hi Scanner Buffs:

Has anyone heard anything further with regard to the EMS in Waterloo Region migrating to Fleetnet Zone 1 system? April 14th came and went and nothing has changed. Thanks!

Regards,

Scanner Dude :D

Patience is required for the MOH switch. As of now Windosr and London (city not the Bruce and Grey area) are on the MOH Fleetnet.

York Region and Georgian are on. You can snag them if you can get towers east of you. I have troubles getting them in the SW toronto.

I heard Cambridge and Miss are goin to switch soon.

Believe me, when you hear how lousy the audio is you will wish they remained on conventional repeaters. If you have a digital scanner and trunk analog MOH and digital OPP the difference is deafening.

I am driving up thru your area later this week and have left in 152.330 and 154,770.

The best shot you would have would be the Primrose tower. Dump in the control channel and see if you can hear it.

What scanner are you using? I had a BC250 and that was certainly true. However I find the audio on the Pro96 much more balanced between analog and digital systems.

Chris:

I got a 296d.
When I monitor the Fleetnet York Georgian MOH transmissions where the audio is low and the opp where the audio is loud the difference is vivid.

Don't expect to see any more MOH switchovers any time soon. Cambridge was supposed to switch in mid-July but got postponed indefinitely the day prior. Apparently another user group has concerns over the increase in system busies in the GTA since York South went live. The whole MOH transition has been put on hold until further notice.
