Just a guess Areas 1-3 Rt 440 North to Rt287

Areas 4 5 6, RT 78 East to NJTPK and RT24

Netcong Station Covers Rt. 24 for accidents only. I can only guess they'll go far east as Chatham or Madison and Somerville picks up from the Rt. 78 end.

Somerville does NOT cover Cheesequake. Somerville cover 287 as far north as the harding rest area then Netcong takes over. Somerville goes all the way to Rt. 440, and then 78 from Newark to the (i'm guessing) Lebanon area.

What I believe you are referring to is not zone numbers but areas. I have heard the Sgt. at Netcong give areas to troop cars at the start of a shift. They are not one in the same. We might not ever know what the "areas" are.

What you posted is correct, except for Cheesequake, which is Troop C. What the OP was referring to are areas not CAD zones. From what I have heard an "area" may have several towns covered, where a CAD zone is one town.

You have to hear it for yourself.

"Areas" are a group of "zones" that are usually located next to or near each other. For Somerville, the one area may cover all of the zones on I-78, while the other areas may cover 440 and southern 287 with a 3rd area covering northern 287.

Perryville is similar, with area 1 being Bloomsbury and Bethlehem, area 2 = Union Twp., and area 3 = I-287 from Clinton eastward to the 287 interchange, Hampton, Glen Gardner, and Lebanon Boro.

Conclusion is:

It appears to me that zones and areas mean the same thing by all of the posts to this thread. I did have a file from the Internet that seems to verify this.

Thank-you for the complete zone listing.

A patrol is assigned an area and an area is a group of Zones.Got it!

Thank-you gentleman.
