What frequencies does BCFA use? The database shows numerous xband repeaters but that could mean anything including small low power UHF vehicle repeaters. I'm assuming there are UHF paging frequencies as well as operation frequencies. I'm pretty far away, so I'm unable to hear anything from them.

BCFA has moved to UHF except page outs which are still on 46.46. Wyandanch EMS is on VHF-high. Those xband rptrs aren't used anymore, They were used to re-transmit the old vhf-lo freq 46.34.

472.125 UHF Paging
472.375 UHF West
472.300 UHF East

East Farmingdale & Amityville Village dispatch themselves on their own separate systems.

Thank you! While we’re on the subject of Amityville Village, are they still using lowband as well or have they moved to UHF?

45.20 is their lowband. I'm not sure if they still use it. I just listen to 477.425 which is the UHF rptr. Don't know if that's just the xband for 45.20 or if they are exclusively UHF now. Fairly low power but I can hear them well in N. Babylon.

Babylon Central Fire Alarm new simulcasted UHF Paging is 460.300 PL 67.0 (Should be 4 sites total when fully operational)
BCFA still paging on low band 46.46 also, as some depts haven't migrated to UHF paging
BCFA West Ops Repeater 472.375 PL 94.8
BCFA East Ops Repeater 472.300 PL 88.5
BCFA FG 475.125 DPL371

Amityville is UHF, but I haven't figured them out yet. Amityville PD Dispatches them on 45.20 but its simulcasted on their UHF freq of
477.425 DPL 114. Not a traditional repeater from what I've seen, seems like a cross band to 45.20. I'm sure they use UHF radios for FG

Wyandanch left BCFA for Dix Hills and operates on their own UHF Disp/Ops 453.550 PL 110.0 and their own F/G 458.5125 DPL072
Wyandanch Amb toned by BCFA on 155.280 and talks to BCFA on 155.220

EFFD has a lot their own UHF frequencies (Listed on this site)

Some other depts have their own UHF FG and some like Deer Park have their own UHF repeater for internal ops/comms. It's all listed on this site.

Good luck.

Is this a repeated freq or simplex?
What do they use it for? Comms with Dispatch? Simplex or repeated fireground?

The Ops is repeated and the F/G is not as of now. They tone out and give 2, 21 etc. and reports on the Ops channel. F/G is for on scene communication. I am not sure if PD sends tone on 45.20 or UHF
