Back Into the Hobby scanning HPD and TPSO

Hey guys I am doing some reading and I realized that in my parish terrebonne that all traffic is encrypted. I dont know if I sould buy a radio or not. I want to listen to the HPD and TPSO. Any advice? Thanks

ONLY TPSO Dispatch 1, HPD Dispatch 1, are encrypted, unless someone has other info they have not submitted. Dispatch 2's, and everything else is In The Clear. Kind of whacked the way it is according to the info we have currently. Dispatch 1's encrypted, and all the sensitive stuff clear.... Backwards if you ask me, but that's the way it is.

.....they can turn their encryption on and off.....sometimes the tpso dispatcher are in the clear ....but units were encrypted...and vice versa ..sometimes u will only hear one unit in the clear while everyone else in encrypted....I don't understand all that either..all their law enforcement channels are like that...also goes for houma p.d.
