I used to be an avid scanner user in the early 80's with a PRO-30 (30-512 MHz) in the Tulsa area, listening mostly to Air, EMSA and Fire.

When Tulsa went to 800 MHz in the mid 80's, I lost a lot of interest in the hobby. Later, I moved outside city limits and lost decent reception of TIAP :(

Anyway, the other day at RS I saw the PRO-83 for $69 and couldn't resist buying it. I googled and found this web-site and have gotten reacquainted with my old hobby. This web-site is a great resource.

So, my question is, with storm season coming up, what else do I need besides:
146.88, 146.94 and 443.85?

I may need them today!

443.850 is what I use when severe weather comes to the area. The repeaters were just linked a few minutes ago.

Thanks for the welcome wagon.

I got broke in well today on 443.850 with all the storm activity.

Now I'm probably going to want to spend more money, buy more equip...
