WS1065: Backlight Display

I don't usually have the backlight on.
Is it possible to have it come on when a transmission is received ?

Actually their is a setting in conventional and talkgroup object menu for backlight on off or flash. Might be what your looking to do.

Ive been looking at that.
Thats why I initially asked the question.
In the ARC500 software I have selected flash in the backlight column for all my entrees and saved it to the radio.
It dosent make it work though.
So I'm thinking, either its not possible, or there is something on the Global Setting page I need to change.

Go to a conventional or talkgroup object on the scanner.Then hit program then edit then current.Go down to backlight setting and switch it to on.Hit save then scan and when it stops on that object the back light should come on. After the transmission the light will go off and should come back on on the next transmission. It worked on my ws1040.

I had that set on flash, so I changed it to on, but it made no difference.

The WS1040 is a handheld, that's why it works for you.
I guess it's a power saving thing.
I haven't been able to get the LED to come on either.

Nope just did it on my pro 652 base.On the scanner not through software and it works just like the 1040.The pro 652 is the exact same thing as a ws1065 just says radio shack on it.

Finally got it, had to enable Alert Mode.
