AURORA - The weather is already to blame for at least one death after a late night crash Thursday.

Investigators say the driver of a GMC Jimmy lost control of the vehicle while driving south on I-225. The vehicle then slid across all lanes of traffic before going off of the overpass that crosses Iliff Avenue. The vehicle then fell about 30 feet and landed on its top.

Two females were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. A passenger was rushed to the hospital and taken in surgery with severe head injuries. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.

Both women have been identified but their names are not being released until family is notified.
