I have a bc340crs scanner and some frequencies in 154-160 rnge tend to emit a loud low sounding beeping sound. I have tried moving the scanner around in my apartment, but no go. Any suggestions?

It's hard to know what it is without hearing it. Maybe you could post a recording.

Even if you eliminate everything in your apartment, it could be coming from someone else's apartment. It can can difficult to find the source in situations like the one you have.
I would start by unplugging all my electrical devices and see if it disappears, if so then you know its in your place, if not then it is in another place.

Must have been something in your apartment. Whenever I get a (frequent) tone, buzz, etc on a freq that I listen to, I kill the power to the entire house and then turn everything on 1 circuit at a time.

It's time consuming and pisses the wife and kids off, but it works. Found a bad doorbell transformer that way.

My wireless router is often the culprit of interference.
