Anyone know how MSP would communicate directly w/ Balt City PD? Is there a known tie-in TG and what conventional freq might MSP utilize?

Also - there is a Balt PD Talkgroup identified only as "Tactical 1"..... ID is 5168.....appears to be general and not specifically associated w/ any particular precinct......I am guessing this is some citywide tac TG....anyone aware of it's use?

Thanks much.

They would probably tie in the Metro Net freq (460.05) into whatever TG they need MSP on. I've heard this done on the Baltimore Co. system during a pursuit. The where tieing them in to TG 208.

Tac 1 is primarily used for special events. Usually baseball or football. Everytime I have heard Baltimore City mutual aid it's on 460.05. Haven't been able to match it to any particular talk group however.

I thought 11A and 11B where used for special events? Is this in addition to or instead of those talkgroups.

Also, does anyone know what TG the traffic enforcement unit (mustang) is on?

Tac 1 is TG 5168 and is addition to those talk groups. I did make an error though. It's primarily for events other than baseball or football.

The Mustangs are district level traffic units are are part of the district ops unit and heard on the district channels. Don't know what particular call number they are in each district other than something 2 something something. (*2**) I know the SE Traffic unit and he is 2226 and all OPS units have 2 as the second digit in the unit number. NW would be 62**, SD 92** WD 72** and so on. Not sure if it's 26 for all districts though.

If ya want I can tell ya how to break most units call numbers into something understandable.

Oh, I didn't realize there was a Mustang for each district. I thought it was one unit.

Okay, so what's the trick for the call signs.

First digit is district, second character is shift , third is sector and fourth is post. 6A32 would be a NW midnite unit in sector 3 on post 2 and 2C23 would be SE, evening in sector 2 on post 3.

Lt's are 09 and Sgts are 10, 20 etc. 91 and 92 are wagons and 99 is desk. So, 2C23's Sgt would be 2C20 and his Lt 2C09. If he got a warrant confirmation from 2C99, 2C91 or 2C92 would do he transport. 200 would be the district major.

Flex and District Ops units are numbered differently. They are numbered for each district as *1** and *2**. NW be something like 6117 or 6234. Again any number ending in 0 is a sergeant and 09 a Lt. Any numbers over *3** is a Citywide unit of some sort. Haven't figured all of those out but I listed some below.

5800 series is crime lab
8400 Series is AIU
6400 Series is Homicide
6500 Series is VCTF
7600-7800 are Tactical including Marine, EVU and K9. EVU are 7811 and 7812, Foxtrot is 7620-7625
9300 Series is Parking Control
9500 Series is TES
9700 Series is HABC
9600 Series and 9800 series are Sheriff
9900 Series is BCPS Police

Either you've been stalking me, or are a really lucky guesser, 'cause you used my police post (632) as an example.

Also, what does AIU, VCTF, EVU, TES, and HABC mean. TIA

Well.... little of both in a way. Figured you lived in the NW and just picked a random post to use. LOL Guess I should start playing the lottery. Abbreviations are as follows:
AIU- Accident Investigation Unit
TES- Traffic Enforcement Section (civilians that direct traffic and write tickets)
VCTF- Violent Crimes Task Force
HABC- Housing Authority of Baltimore City Police
EVU- Emergency Vehicle Unit They do lighting for crime scenes, carry special tools and also do some bomb work.

Mo,

You made reference to a tie-in on TG 208....were you referring to Balt City or County w/ that? If it was city - I'm unaware of that TG.

Thanks to all for the responses.
