I loaded up Baltimore City straight from the web import on Win96. I'm not getting anything. Any ideas?

Thanks and happy holidays

Also, I've seen two sets of Control Channels floating around. Which should I use?

These from this post: http://forums.radioreference.com/ra...8-pro-96-2096-apco-25-system.html#post1515701

Balt City 04 868.70000 MOT 0.0
Balt City 05 868.73750 MOT 0.0
Balt City 06 868.87500 MOT 0.0
Balt City 07 868.95000 MOT 0.0

And these from RR Web Import:

Balt City 01 853.70000 MOT 0.0
Balt City 02 853.73750 MOT 0.0
Balt City 03 853.87500 MOT 0.0
Balt City 04 853.95000 MOT 0.0

You need to use the 853MHz series. That will work for you.

So far the 853 MhZ series gives me nothing...

Now I've found the below frequencies. Where would these go?

http://forums.radioreference.com/ma...52876-baltimore-city-800-mhz.html#post1851361

"Rebanded voice frequencies from the control channel data so far are:

851.22500
851.35000
851.62500
851.66250
851.82500
851.85000
851.87500
851.90000
852.15000
852.21250
852.40000
852.46250
852.92500
852.98750
853.10000
853.15000
853.30000
853.45000

As of now, the pre-rebanded frequencies are still being reported by the control channel."

You only need to enter these four control channel freqs for the pro-96 to trunk-track Balto City:

Balt City 01 853.70000 MOT 0.0
Balt City 02 853.73750 MOT 0.0
Balt City 03 853.87500 MOT 0.0
Balt City 04 853.95000 MOT 0.0

The other freqs you listed are the voice channels, but they don't need to be entered. Are you certain that you've selected MOT as the Bank Type--please see this screen cap:

Mark, thank you so much for the help. I still can't get anything. I have attached a screen shot here. Do you see anything wrong?

I'm on the 3400 block of North Charles Street. I should be hearing something, right?

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Your set up look right to me... let's check few more things:

1. On the Settings/Weather page for WIN96-check to make sure that you don't have Global Attenuation set to On--from Charles St, it shouldn't matter, but you never know.

2. Check your Squelch knob--it's a stretch, but it could be all the way over to MAX--the mid-way point between Max and Min should be fine.

3. Lastly, see if moving the scanner to another room helps--you might just be in a bad spot in your house.

Here's what my Settings/Weather page looks like:

The squelch is in the middle, so that's not it. I just walked around outside and still got nothing.

My Settings/Weather page is like your except I don't have any NWR SAME Codes programmed in. I also have all Enabled Scan Banks checked, you only had bank 2 checked.

This is very strange because I can hear other systems like the MTA.

Thanks again for your assistance.

It is a puzzlement... let's try one more thing:

Can you try programming the current control channel, 853.875 in FM mode, and see if you can hear the digital noise?

If you can hear it, what is the decode percentage you're seeing?

I changed 853.875 to FM. I hear noise in shorts 1-2 second bursts. It sounds like static. On the upper right hand corner of the PRO-96's screen, it switches from FM (when there is noise) and DG (when it is silent).

I'm not sure how to get the decode percentage.

Thanks guys for the help.

I may have found the percentage. I only see the percentage at the bottom when I press MODE and then to MO.

It says:

96: ------------ 00%

That's correct--my mistake, you can only see the percentage when you're in MOT mode...

00% isn't good, however... This is clearly your problem, but I'm not sure why you're not getting any decode. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with your 800MHz reception...

The MTA system is on 400MHz, isn't it? And you're hearing that just fine?

One other thing...

I'm picking up the Anne Arundel County 800 MhZ system just fine. I'm not sure that system is Digital, but I just wanted to point that out.

Big Thanks for your help.

You beat me to the question... I was about to ask if you could hear another digital 800MHz system... AA county is a good measuring stick... if you can hear that system, there's nothing wrong with your 800MHz reception.

Maybe I missed something on your set up. Do you want to try loading up my file to see if your reception of Balto City works?

Still nothing even with your file!

I'm thinking that it may be the Antenna. Do you think that's possible?

When I get home, I'll put the 800mhz antenna on.

Well, I think we've ruled out most every problem it could be... the 800MHz antenna is certainly worth a try--I use them on all my portables and it certainly helps. I hope that's the problem.

Best of luck--let us know if it works for you.

Take care,
