Baltimore City TRS troubles???

Just heard something about City police loosing three of their TGs. Does anyone have more info? Everything seems to be working fine though.

This was the first Baltimore City thread I found so I'll put my question here instead of starting a new thread...

Talkgroup 2160 is listed in the database as B10 City. That TG is in the middle of the Fire/EMS numbers. The only use I keep hearing is V.I.P. escort or security details. That's all I've ever heard on that TG. It sometimes sounds like it's the mayor's detail. Anyone know for sure?

I cannot figure out the nature of that TG either....heard some fireground chit-chat on it a week ago.....Tue night of this week, there was a City road crew talking in some detail about lane closures & road repairs. Maybe it is a common TG for all agencies.

Any luck better discerning the use of the many, vaguely-described "Narcotics" & "Organized Crime" TGs of the PD?

Those things you've heard Dave give it a different meaning than what I thought it was. I've never caught anything but the escort crews. Tonight I think they are waiting for the mayor to finish a meeting.

Funny you should mention the VICE/NARC guys. I've also been trying to sort them out - but haven't managed to get them herded into nice little groups. As they say - it's like herding cats. My problem is that I don't listen to the city net exclusively. But if I turn up anything, I'll give you a shout.

Apparently all of those vice/narc/org TGs are in zone B of the City radios. Only the detectives have access to that zone. The only way I've been able to identify their exact designater is by listening exclusively to Citywide. The detectives often use those channels to chat as well as for survaielance/vice activity. Alot of times a detective will come onto Citywide and request another unit to switch over to a B-whatever. I then scan only those channels in my radio waiting to see what TG they come up on.

If I had enough patients I'd listen to Citywide all day to try to figure this out.

Have any of you identified any TGs assigned for only the Quick Response Team (SWAT)? I've heard them on a numbers of scenes, coordinating on the respective district TG after having been called for on citywide-1....but I have yet to hear their actual tactical comms.....perhaps they simply have some 800 or non-800 simplex headset radio setup for this sort of thing.

Like alot of police chitter chatter, there probably being used thru nextel as well
