This is my first post in a long time, I hope this is in the correct area... I am new to the area and want to listen to BCFD, however it is listed here as a Type 1 system. I have programmed Type 2 systems into my BC296D & 796 with no problems, however, with this Type 1 system I am not hearing anything. Any suggestions or help is much appreciated!

Not sure what a type 1 or 2 system is, but the BCFD is on a Project 25 Phase 1 simulcast system.

I think both of those radios are capable of receiving, but you may need a directional antenna and/or attenuation. Depending on your location.

Should receive fine while mobile within the county.
