After making a contact with him I gave up. Seems not too many operators are up at that hour.

You can always find Kenny with an ear on 146.52 during the graveyard shift. Great guy.. has quite an impressive set-up at the homestead up there near Sturgeon Bay.

Did he mention the real-time propagation map? It uses the APRS network reports to determine signal distances and converts them to a map form to show VHF propagation paths.. http://mountainlake.k12.mn.us/ham/aprs/path.cgi?map=na

triryche: Yeah, Kenny mentioned the map. It was red from here to Ohio and into Indiana even. Sucks it was in the middle of the night. Best I've done is to central Iowa about a year ago, but of course that was in the middle of the afternoon. Kenny has a few repeater setups up there and I listened to him explain some of his HF setup one night and it sounds really impressive. I have a buddy that lives near Sturgeon Bay so I may have to make a trip up that way to visit him and Kenny sometime.
