Hey everyone!

So I set up a program for my scanner (BCT15X, which I do not have yet) and I had a quick question about band plans.

I set up a band plan according to this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsRJmwV3r_w) but I'm not sure it's correct for the channels I want to upload to the scanner when it finally gets here. Is the band plan in this video a "universal" plan, or do I need a specific plan for my channels?

I am programming a bunch of Waukesha County talkgroups that run through Waukesha County Communications. I didn't see a plan set up on the Waukesha County page on this website like I did for Wisconsin State Patrol. Do I need to alter the plan I have in Freescan to make these frequencies come through? Or do I even need a band plan?

Here is a link to the page I am getting my frequencies and talkgroups from. https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=605

Thanks for the help!

First, get yourself a premium subscription - that will enable FreeScan to pull the data from the database. It's inexpensive...

Now there's something else that FS will do for you; according to your link, the county's TRS has been rebanded which requires a special band plan for it to trunk properly. FS will automatically install the correct bandplan for you, so you don't need to do it manually

And to help you along with the 15x...

Program your DMA Scanner - The RadioReference Wiki

at the very bottom of the above article are links to the Easier to Read series. Be sure to download the one for the 15x, as you're likely to need it. Also this article has a lot of other useful information. Be sure to bookmark it for future reference.

Hey Mike! Thanks for the reply!

I did find out that FS will pull directly from here, but only after I had my program already written. The only thing is the band plan, like I said. Plus, just for my curiosity, I'd like to know how those are created.

I'll take a look at your links in a little bit here. I've had a subscription before, but right now it's not something that I'd like to get. I have other things that I need to get squared away first and I'm trying to keep expenses low right now. I know it's inexpensive, but it all adds up.
