Can someone explain the concept of banks and channels?
The way I understand it, banks contain numerous channels and they could be thought of as sub folders (or layers).
How many frequencies can be put into a channel?
How can you "see" (monitor) the contents of a channel?

In the SC150B, you have 10 banks. Each bank can hold up to 10 frequencies (channels) for a total of 100 frequencies (channels) maximum you can scan. Let's say you put fire frequencies in bank 1, police frequencies in bank 2, and public works frequencies in bank 3. You can select which agencies you want to scan by selecting the bank or banks containing those frequencies (channels). By the way, are you close to the old WurliTzer plant at 908 Niagara Falls Blvd? I belong to a group that rebuilds theatre pipe organs.

Your scanner has banks and channels. 10 banks that can hold 10 channels.
Channels are where the frequencies are entered. Then the channels can be entered into those 10 banks.
Once you've filled all 10 banks with 10 channels each, (100 frequencies/channels) your scanner if full. By turning on/off the banks by using the number keys on the scanner, you can pick what you want to monitor.

Thank you for the information. It clears up my Understanding of channels (They're, essentially the frequencies).

I live about 5 miles away from the Wurlitzer plant. An interesting sidelight not well known...

We have in the city of North Tonawanda, a place called the Riviera theater. Farny Offered to Install a Pipe Organ in it for free with the understanding that, it would shut down for a short time while Wurlitzer installed newly designed instrumental attachments. As a result, there are a number of musical instruments (drums, piano, glockenspiel, bells, etc.) arrayed across the front of the stage in the orchestra pit and are played using the organ. It is really something to see and hear.

Information about the theater is here: https://rivieratheatre.org/about/the-mighty-wurlitzer/

Glad I could be of help. My spelling of WurliTzer with a capital T was no accident. Take a look at the WurliTzer name on the tower of the building. You can see it on your Riviera Theatre link. Orchestral bells are a reiterating glock. The sound effects such as the train whistle, auto horn, horse clopping, bird whistle, trolley gong, etc are known as the toy counter. The organist had a lot at his disposal accompanying silent movies. Unfortunately, many people have never heard just how beautiful the theatre pipe organs are.

To send this even farther off the original topic :) I'm near Erie, PA and I've been up to the Herschell Carousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda which used Wurlitzer band organs. (Had to tie that together.) I'm not a fan of the Herschell-Spillman carousels. The horses all look so angry. Not very attractive carousels in my opinion.

For tvengr:

When I was a kid, my mother was friends with a local doctor and he collected a variety of eclectic things (such as dozens of Volkswagen Beetles a number of players pianos and about a dozen steam engines). He had bought a theater organ from a theater that was being dismantled and had is installed in his collection building. We would house-sit when they were away on vacation and I played the organ. I'd enjoy playing that when I had the chance. Being a kid, it was a challenge making it up onto the bench.

If I were bolted to a circular platform that only went round in circles and had to carry people on my back all day, I'd look more enraged then angry.
