    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello everybody. In Brazil we have strict rules regarding the purchase of equipment. They must have FCC or CEMIIT or CE (European Community), and I know that the Chinese sometimes don't have any. I'm looking for Baofeng BF-17L Certification (or DoS Letter if it exists). and also the Baofeng UV-18 PRO MAX. It has to be an official document... as we say here, "even parrots talk!"; officially proving this is another reaction. Would anyone have anything other than the FCC? I found nothing there. Thanks

I could not find any. The radio must have the certification number affixed to it. If the seller cannot provide a picture of such certification number, it likely does not exist. This is a growing problem in the US as sellers are importing radios that are not certified or are counterfeit replicas of certified radios.

If having an actually legit subscriber with authentic issued by AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) certification requirement is a necessity, stick to real radio manufacturers such as Icom, JVC Kenwood, Motorola Solutions, L3 Harris, Tait, and BK/Relm and only buy from authorized dealers and not Amazon or Ebay. This is again, if your focus is having a legit product and legit AHJ certification. AHJs such as FCC, Industry Canada usually have ID numbers that are affixed and can be verified authentic on public websites.

Thank you everyone for the responses. In fact, I never bought it and I don't like the radios produced there. My preferences have always been ICOM, YAESU, KENWOOD, etc... reliable and quality. I received this specific equipment as a gift... a Greek gift, as the saying goes (hehehe), obviously due to historical affection and nothing against our friends and brothers. Tks

Here in the US those radios remain useful for Ham radio, though the ability to use them on police and fire frequencies is frowned upon. They are sold openly on Amazon with default programming that offends every radio service.

Decades ago one could buy a "saturday night special" which was a handgun made of cheap pot metal. So many were sold at a very small price, that violent crime and murder escalated. Being made of pot metal, the gun users themselves were often maimed from parts flying off. In my opinion Baofeng is the modern equivalent.
