• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I was given a Baofeng BF-888s to try out and I'm having trouble getting it to work with the CLS1110's we have at work programmed to 464.550 which is one of the pre-programmed freqs that comes stock on the CLS1110's. I have installed Chirp's latest build (as of today) and I have a genuine Baofeng USB cable and no problems downloading from or uploading to the 888... I just cant the correct frequency tone and code settings (I guess).

Can anyone help me understand how to program the BF-888s to operate in conjunction with the CLS1110's?

Our CLS Settings:
CLS1110
UHF
464.550
12.5 bandwidth
Interference Eliminator Code 1 = 67.0hz

Thanks for noticing... I hate it when mine get hijacked, so I try and treat everyone else the same.

I did a search on here for over 3 hours and just couldn't find the right solution yet.

When you say that you're "having trouble getting it to work with the CLS1110's we have at work" what precisely do you mean by that?

What I mean is I have been able to get the 888's to receive from the CLS1110's, but I CANNOT get the CLS1110's to receive from the 888's.

No, for what you need the Baofeng software is much easier. It is acutually the BF-480 software that is used for the BF-888S. This is all you should have to do program the frequency:
A picture...now that's what I really needed. Thanks a bunch. I'll try that.

I tried that software and could not get it to read or write to the radio.

Thank you to everyone that helped me with this problem.
I was able to get them working in tandem with the CLS1110's using the following specs.
If anyone can suggest any tweaks that I should perform to these... or if you see anything drastically incorrect or non-FCC friendly, please let me know.

Initially the BF-888s used the BF-480 software. But Baofeng eventually released a programming software specifically for the BF-888s. It is available on the Miklor website.

Your Yellow Dot itinerant channels (1 and 2) should be NFM (narrowband) like the rest.
