Considering a Baofeng BF-F8HP for the minimal 8 watts 3 settings. I know that it also uses the UV-5R parts and accessories. There is a DC cable avail for the UV-5r to plug into the car cigarette lighter, then the desktop charger. Do the UV-5R battery packs have a DC plug port for direct DC charge or power?
Also, does anyone know is it is the same with the new Baofeng BF-F8HP? And what the wallwart charger output voltage to the desktop charger is?
Purchased a UV-82HP, nice little rig for the price. Only downside is walwart output is 10volts not 12v. Only option to charge while in the car is to use my DC to AC 50w invertor, then the walwart and destop charger. That works, but a simple DC cig plug would be less to pack in the truck and carry on trips.
Have not had luck in finding out the wall charger output voltage for the new BF-F8HP.
I have both a Yaesu 530 and FT-50R. They charge with the DC cig plug directly thru the radio. Ashame Baofeng did not include this on their rigs. My Yaesu's are mint and not what I carry outside the house. If the Baofeng gets stolen or damaged, not a large investment on my part
