I wish to program one set of frequencies to display A and another to Display B. Both sets of frequencies are for amateur repeaters I use in different areas. In CHIRP, I have saved the 2 sets of frequencies, however when I "upload to radio", (programming cable), I am unable to upload one set of frequencies to Display A and the other set of frequencies to display B. I end up with the same saved set of frequencies in both A & B displays.Perhaps this is not possible?? Any suggestions, including a link to a current manual/guide explaining how to do this would be appreciated. Thanks

Non of the Chinese radios I have had (5 radios, 3 brands) will do what you want. Some will not even due true dual band monitoring.

The two displays share the same 128 memory channels that can't be divided into banks. What you want to do is not possible on that radio.

I may be missing something and not completely understand what you want to do. How many frequency pairs do you desire to program into the radio all together. I'm thinking there are not more than 60 frequency pairs for repeaters in each area - but of course I could be wrong.

I would program the frequency pairs for the first area into channels 1- 60 and then the frequency pairs for the second area into channels 61 - 120 then by using the a/b switch you could select a channel from each area. I actually do this to split my radio between New Jersey and Florida frequencies I use.


You cannot double the capacity of the radio by loading frequencies into the a and the b banks.
