Baofeng RD-K5 is not on CHiRP

Have you tried any of the other supported models? Perhaps something close in "generation" is already supported or something with similar firmware might work. Looking through the list on the CHIRP website, you might try the Quansheng UV-K5.

Agreed on trying another B radio in chirp. I am far from defending anything made in China, however as I have said in other posts we cannot eliminate all radios (or other consumer products) not made in this country or else we would have no hobby or other products…I hate it too, but we have to deal with reality. The Chinese radios have their place and maybe not in one’s radio collection and our option is not to buy one.
