    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a Baofeng UV82L and I use CHIRP to program the memory channels. My issue is when scanning A channels if I stop on a memory preset channel the B channel does not correspond. I am operating on repeaters so I have A set to RX and B to TX. So I need to select the correct B channel to match A. When I transmit on B it stays on that channel and I have to hit the exit A/B button to switch back to channel A to listen. Is there a way to set it to monitor A all the time so when I transmit on B it automatically switches back to A for listening purposes? And to automatically go to the corresponding memory channel on B to match A Channel 5 on A and Channel 5 on B so I don't have to manually set the correct TX on B to match A. Clear as mud?

First, the top [A] and bottom lines are independent. They cannot be linked or automatically synchronized.

It seems strange that you would set [A] to a channel programmed with the RX frequency and to a channel programmed with the TX frequency. That wastes a memory but using 2. Or am I missing something?

I assume that you are programming the memories manually using the keypad. What you should do is program a single channel to RX on the repeater's output frequency and TX on the repeater's input frequency. Then when you stop scanning on [A], you transmit on [A] and then resume scanning on [A]. It won't matter what is selected on .
