Base scanner antenna

hello all,

I am looking for a base scanner antenna. I currently have up a Diamond discone, the D-130J. I had a scantenna up before the discone and didn't like it. I want to replace the discone with something else. Any suggestions? I scan vhf low, vhf hi, uhf, and 800. It also would be nice to find something that I can also transmit on. Especially on 2 meters and 440 Mhz.

I think you have had 2 of the best choices out there to use, the Scantenna and the D-130J. It isn't easy to find an antenna to use across the range you are looking to scan, especially if you are wanting to transmit of the ham bands with one.
