Rumor: Confirmed

Bastrop, Caldwell, and the City of Lockhart have teamed with City of Austin and was awarded a grant last year to upgrade communications. Each will now be an extention of the Austin/Travis/Williamson/Middle Rio Grande Valley P25 radio system

Does anyone knwo when new sites will be going up? I don't think the Creedmoor site can serve all of Caldwell County, so I would imagine that at least 1 will be going up in Caldwell County, to serve the county and Lockhart.

Caldwell and Bastrop Counties already have 800 mhz trunked systems, so the plan would most likely involve upgrading their current systems utlizing their existing site(s) and then link them to the Austin/Travis system.

Yes, all agencies will utilize existing towers. Caldwell County will be adding a new tower in the Luling area

The database shows the control channel for the bastrop site as 866.95. I am less than 5 miles from the tower site and have yet to hear anything on that freq.

I think he's talking about Bastrop's analog Moto system, Bastrop County. I can usually hear this system but don't hear a thing tonight. Does anybody hear the analog system right now? This system is to become another site on Greater Austin/Travis Regional Radio System (GATRRS) when it goes. I suspect it has, too. I hear a different signal on 859.7125, but it's too weak to copy from where I am.

The existing Bastrop site (site 7) on GATRRS should also be active. Try some of the other frequencies on that site. Both sites should be active. I guess it's also possible that they combined them into one simulcast site.

I'm hearing the CC on the county analog system. I have not hear any traffic on it this evening. Site 7 is at the power plant a few miles away. It is the one I cannot hear the CC. I'll plug all the channels for the site in the spare scanner and see what happens.

P25 CC on 859.7125 as site 40 on GATRRS! It wasn't easy and the signal is extremely weak.

Now reporting sites 7 and 8 as peers. Got a couple of frequencies and TG 5603.

I don't hear much from site 7, but site 40 is very active. I'm getting TGs 5603,5604, 5609, 5612, even 5668. There is a lot of activity but I'm over in Well's Branch and can't always get a good signal. I'm thinking 5603 is the SO, but I don't get much time to listen to it.

Finally, The scanner wasn't the problem. The problem turned out to be, drum roll please, ScanCat Lite (yeah I know but it was the only program available at the time that supported the radio shack version of the BCT-8) resetting the trunking type back to Moto 700/800 every time it uploads. Manually put in back to P25 and site 40 is working.
