Just make sure you program in the LWIN properly, and use the sites you will be around, as well as the talk groups you wish to monitor. As far as we know, there is little to no encryption in EBR going on currently.

not encrypted...so any apco 25 scanner should work....

Not quite accurate Cliff. Any of the P25 Trunk trackers that can do 700 MHz will do fine. As he has an BCD396XT, he should be OK if he programs in the LWIN object properly.

Thanks guys

Yea, I have spent hours, and hours doing the programming and re programming and re programming and I think I have had some hits on the EBR stuff, but was not 100 percent confident I was catching them.
I have them plugged in, and I was hearing traffic that seems to be the correct talk group, but I was not sure..

Thanks again.

Baton Rouge Talk Groups

As of today, the BR PD talk groups listed currently work. (LWIN). I also get lots of neighboring city PD's. The GOLD MINE main frequency is 769.1937. I've scrubbed all the other freqs. out of the scanner. (BCD996P2). My problem seems to be Livingston Parish. I only get the LPSO Dispatch 1 and 2. And Parish wide Fire) There are many small town PDs in the parish I cannot get. Tried three different tower sites and all the freqs I could bang into the scanner. I'm thinking the talk group IDs have changed. Anyone else in Livingston Parish can confirm this??

There's a lot of interesting marine and public works channels out there too. Don't forget the CBers too.
