Is it just me or it seems my 125AT eats batteries ? after a few hours I have to change them out.
regular or recharge ones no difference. And thats with the back light off.
Just wondering if its my radio or if anyone else notices this.

For extensive use I typically power my 125’s using the USB port at home and in the vehicle. For longer power on foot I use a USB battery pack. I supplement the power with USB so often, I really do not know how long they last with rechargeable only. I believe all of the scanners and receivers I often use now have USB.

I’ve rechargeable Eneloop batteries in my 125XLT (EU version of the 125AT) and they give me at least approx. 8 hrs of operating time. When I go away with my 125XLT or 3600XLT I always carry an extra set a Eneloop batteries 😉

4 hours is what I regard as an acceptable length of time when using disposable AA batteries. But we have to remember this amount of battery life each of us expects is with the understanding of “Your Results may Vary”. What I listen to determines how long I get on a set of batteries. If the agencies I listen to are relatively quiet in comparison to what others listen to, my battery consumption is less. So, there’s that. There are rechargable AA batteries available and depending upon how many disposable batterie's you go through it may a way to save money in the long run. I use a lithium rechargable AA battery called TENAVOLTS (Amazon). My results using them have been better than the disposables. They come 4 batteries with a charger. (I was using the Eveready Lithium disposable AA batteries which lasted much longer than the regular AA disposables but are very expensive.) My hopes were that the TENAVOLTS would give me the same longer playing times as the Eveready disposable lithium batteries and although I haven’t compared them as yet I believe the TENAVOLTS rechargables last longer than the alkaline disposables and at least approach the length of time the Eveready lithium disposables do.

Thanks for the info I do have those batteries from Amazon. Like I said no real problem I have plenty of other rigs to depend on at home and in the car
Thanks Steve

I once had a faulty 125XLT that ate batteries too. I exchanged it and a set of batteries in the replacement lasted about 3 times longer.
