Battery question uniden 325p2

When I plug the scanner in it says charge and I answer yes. Shortly thereafter I look at the scanner and it says battery error. Any suggestion on how to rectify. When I unplug from charging the battery only lasts for minutes

If you have access to a good external charger, try to charge them with it. The better chargers also condition batteries and can restore seemingly dead cells. Many of the users of these forums prefer an external charger because each battery is charged individually. When they are charged in the radios, the batteries are in series and one bad one will affect the whole set. A few of us have experienced a bad cell overheating and damaging the radio. It is not common for that to happen, but in a 5 or 6 hundred dollar radio the results can be disasterous.
