Hi,
Still a bit confused over the different "modes" that occur when one tries to re-charge
NiMH batteries.
From previous posts, I understand that the Timer is active only when/if the unit is actually ON.
And, when the unit is not on, the batteries are still being charged, but without the benefit of a timer to stop the charge after 16 hours, and that there is some potential danger involved with this.
Questions:
a. It seems that turning on and off the unit Re-Sets the timer to 16 hours.
Also resets if you plug, and unplug, the AC Charger.
Is this normal ?
I was going to ask if you are supposed to RESET the timer when you want to charge the batteries, but this turning on and off seems to do it.
Therefore, no manual resets are ever required. True ?
So, if one wants to charge the batteries, does one have to keep score of the time with pencil and paper, if the unit is turned on and off, which I was imagine is pretty normal operation ?
b. What is "DAC" Value ?
c. On my display when I go to "Show Battery Level, I have:
1023 >9.96 (big space between the last 3 and the >)
This is when the Timer is showing about 15 hours.
What is the "1023" ?
I would assume the charger is aiming for about 6 volts. What is the current indication of >9.96 mean ? (there is 15 hours on the timer)
d. Let's say I have the unit always plugged in, but the Timer has run down to 0.
Is the unit smart enough to know to Reset the timer to 16 hrs to re-charge the batteries
(if required), or must you do a manual re-set of timer, or... ?
Sorry for the several posts and questions on this, but I would really like to get a firm understanding of what happens, and doesn't happen, regarding the charging.
Thanks,
Bob
