BAUD rate change

I have an AR8600 Mark2 and I am not able to read or write to it. The program says I need to have my receiver at 9600 rate. How do I change the rate on my AR8600?

Thanks N5XPM, as I did solve the problem, as the COM Port was corrupted and I needed to delete the port. I am now able to read data from AR8600.

Just been messing about again with my own vb.net program for the 8600 which I started work on a few years ago
Don’t really remember why I originally stuck with the 9600 baud setting, but a couple of days ago I decided to increase the baud rate to 19200 which if nothing else has allowed me read an entire memory bank a bit quicker.
TBH I now almost find it easier to just add program features rather than trying to remember the sequence of button presses needed to do some things on the radio itself.

So your saying I can change the rate to 19200 on Function-7 and I use program ARC8200V2. Is there a better program for the 8600 ?

Sorry I haven’t used the ARC8200 software but the screen shots I’ve seen look promising. If there is a setting in the program for different baud rates I would try 19200 to see if it is stable.

No the program is only made for 9600 but it is ok now as I did set up the proper rate and a new COM port.

I’d be interested to know if the program does everything you need. It doesn’t seem to be too expensive so I might give it a try myself.

I can use the program to edit scan frequency with channels also I can edit search frequency with channels. It lets me read from the scanner and write to scanner.
