Bay Area Transportation Authority’s (Grand Traverse county)

The Bay Area Transportation authority has multipl frequencies listen on their database page, however, by using a few different scanners on multiple frequencies, I have found that only one is active. the 159.570 frequency is the one used for all dispatch and bus coms. It also appears they have a new call sign, as the one broadcasted over the air is different than the one listed on the database. Later tonight when I turn on the scanner, i’ll Post the new callsign. Changes should be made to the database.

Here is my update. I've heard the callsign broadcast a few times tonight, and it seems to be they are announcing KD898 every half hour, however at around 15:44 when dispatchers swapped out, they broadcast the sign three times, then left the microphone keyed for about 2 minutes with no sound. Both of my scanners picked the extra time up, so it wasn't just one scanner freezing.

Let us know here or by a submission update at the upper right corner at the link-Submit Tab on what needs changed. Descriptions, PL tones, etc. The database is populated by the public and its been a long time since this section has been updated!

KD898 doesnt show up as a valid license, KNBD898 goes with the two low band 43/44 MHz ones. - those still being used? The 153.74/158.76 ones are saying "GRAND TRAVERSE CENTRAL DISPATCH " in their license. Maybe those were incorrectly inserted many years ago? Let us know what is being used/not since your local to the area.

I made two changes per your info. any PL info?

My 145XL doesn't get anything off the Low-Band ones, the only one with any traffic is 159.570. I don't have any PL information yet, but i'll try.

145xl doesn't do PL's time to upgrade

Neither does the UV-5R, I guess. Nevertheless, i've been listening on some good action, including a bus being hit by a red-light-runner.
