Alert for a jumper.....interesting to note that the fire dept is coordinating w/ USCG Annapolis & their respective cutters directly on VHF 23 (157.15). Curious, because the last time there was a jumper (within the last 2 weeks), USCG didn't respond to the scene. Is USCG Annap not 24/7?

Based on the TRUNKER id, "Bay Bridge Command" appeared to
be a Queen Anne's County (NFI) unit that was positioned on the
west bound span.

Capt. 19 had "Sandy Point Command" in the park.

Another point - fire alarm cancelled dive units because
the jumper apparently jumped into the shipping channel
and diving isn't permitted in the channel....(at least, not
by rescue units).

They had a Sandy Point Park Command last time too but just for the very short time from when they arrived till they launched the Fire Boat.

I missed all of this one. I've been trying to get my scanner onto my web site with no results to show for it. Windows Media Encoder is busting my butt. It's supposed to be easy but not when you're computer illiterate. I'm in need of a 10 year old - the generation born with inbred silicon chips in their brains.

FYI, No surprise on the cancel of dive units....I previously ran a SCUBA rescue unit in the region....very inefficient to conduct a coordinated underwater search for a body in such swift current (and that area can be heinously swift), visibility is only inches and there are some dangerous pieces of large/sharp debris under the Bay Bridge. For this reason, use of drag hooks would also be a nightmare. Much better to just wait until he washes ashore.

DNR was supposedly responding.....which of their own channels did they use en route? 39.22? Anything on 151.205?

It's kind of late now but there was a short story in the Baltimore Sun about this jumper episode. They mentioned there were both DNR and Coast Guard boats involved in the search.

There was another story in the past few days that a jumper from back in November just washed ashore this past week. Neither of the two most recent high divers has been found yet.
