I really don’t like going across the bridge, and the west bound span is worse than east for me.

People were posting pics of the top of the bridge barely poking above the fog. Couldn’t even tell what was in the pic if you didn’t know.

I cross that bridge every week. Not a big deal, but the fog this morning was unusually dense. Seems to be lots of people trying to log onto the traffic cameras because I cannot, lol.

Looks like the initial call went out at 7:51am this morning. Anne Arundel MU17, MU36 and MU39 transported. Other Anne Arundel resources remaining on the scene: A219 (Harmons / Dorsey); BC36 (Battalion Cheif Annapolis); E171 (Arnold); E191 (Cape St. Clair); E211 (Harmons / Dorsey); EMS02 (EMS Supervisor); EMS36 (EMS Supervisor Annapolis), MU19 (Cape St. Clair); MU40 (West Annapolis); QT46 (USNA); SCMD (Shift Commander): TD80, TD83, TD84, TD86 (not sure what the TD prefix means.) Battalion 2, Engine 402, HazMat 4, HazMat 23, MU46B, Rescue Engine 23, Rescue Squad 4, Safety Officer 5, Special Ops Commander all placed in service.

Sounds like they are taking people off the bridge by vans. Not sure if their vehicles were involved or if they simply won't allow people to drive off on their own.

MDTA sent this email about 15 minutes ago:

"The Bay Bridge's westbound span remains closed for a multi-vehicle injury crash. There is no estimated time for reopening.

Drivers should expect major delays in both directions and are urged to delay travel across the bridge. Eastbound and westbound traffic are alternating on the eastbound span. Two-way operations are prohibited due to fog/limited visibility.

Motorists should stay on US 50 on both sides of the bridge to keep local roadways open for first responders and residents."

The cameras appear to be working now, since just looked at them.

Didn't see anything moving either East or West at Route 8, but could be camera issue.

I go over the Bay Bridge at least once a week in my work truck. Have been in fog on the bridge, but most likely not as bad as today.
Glad never been caught in that bad traffic accident on the bridge. I have been in some minor delays there.

One of the MdTAP officers just asked about a heavy duty wreaker and they said hooking up some of the other vehicles at this time.

Fire units are going in service: "handing over to PD and tow company."

Still trying to figure out why station 21 was alerted for this seeing how they are tons of other units closer unless mab21 was on the call and not shown

TD is the Training Division. Sounds like they used the academy vans for transporting.

Definitely was such a mess this morning seeing all the photos posted on Facebook.

Engine 211 personnel were utilized to staff the Training Academy vans to assist with transporting civilians off of the bridge to Bay Bridge MDTA HQ.
