BC-246T Mod

I found a Mod on mod.dk for the 246 concerning adjusting squelch on NFM, FM, and AM. It says it puts them inline. I can send the details of the mod if anyone needs more info. I don't understand the need for the mod. Can anyone advise?

I wrote that mod. On my BC246T the position on the squelch knob at which AM and FM would silence was different from the position at which NFM would silence. It was very aggravating. After putting up with it for a while, I cracked the case (with a similar mod for a BC780XLT in-hand) and figured out how to equalize them.

I gathered that not all BC246T's have this problem, but mine did, so I thought I'd share it with the world.
