On my BC 246T when it goes to the system with STAR-Net in it it displays NFM in the lower part of the screen. I think the system is FM, so I could be losing audio with it set to NFM. My question is, how do I switch it to FM mode?

You won't lose anything - it will just be artificially louder than the other signals.

Why do you think this causes audio loss?

When you have a narrowband channel and have it in "regular" FM mode, the audio will be lower than normal. If you have a "regular" FM channel in NFM, the audio will be lower than normal.

Close. When listening to a FM user in NFM mode, the audio will be LOUDER (or higher) than 'normal'.
