BC 246T program

I just purchased a used/new BC246T, at a garage sale, $20.00. I am wondering what is the best program to use to program this radio. I know it doesnt/wont do P25 which is about the only trunking systems that are in my area. So I am just looking for a good basic way to program the radio, and to use the signal stalker or CC function of the radio.
