I recently acquired this scanner on the cheap. It has no audio output from the speaker or the headphone jack. Everything else works, it scans, stops on chatter etc. So, my question is this worth fixing? Does anyone have any experience with bearcat portables they could share. It seems there is a service manual out there but it is going to cost $20 to get it. I have a BC 145xl and the service manual for it. There seems to be a capacitor that can be replaced that fixes the audio problem on those scanners, but I believe the audio amp chips are different between the two so I cannot readily test it correctly. So, in short, should I get rid of it or fix it?

Doubt it would be worth the cost to repair unless you have the correct audio amp and can do it yourself.
