Did Uniden ever offer any firmware and/or software upgrades, for their BC-780 XLT Trunktracker Scanners? If so, how do you determine what version your scanner is currently operating at?

No on the firmware upgrade, the unit wasn't capable of such tasks.
Hold down the following key combinations while turning on the 780XLT unit. [2], [4] & [9]. This will display the firmware version and checksum numbers.
