Bc 80 Xlt

I have an older BC 80 XLT that the pegs for the Antenna to hook to on the BNC plug have worn off of, I am trying to replace the BNC connector in the scanner, However it has that ring with the two ridges in it on the top and I cannot get that loose, I've tried a hammer and screw driver, Does anyone else have any experiece getting these off? Is there an easy way? Thanks!

On similar bnc connectors, I have used a pair of needle nose pliers to get the rings off. Just a thought...

Yes. Start by applying a very small amount ( no more than 2 drops ) of penetrating oil between the ring and the threads. Then using a miniature needle-nose pliers, put the two ends of the pliers facing straight up in the two ridges. Press down and twist !
