BC 855xlt Scan lockout.

Hi Im trying to fix it for an uncle who absolutly loves this thing.

I start by hitting the weather button,it picks up a weather frequency 162.550 which is local.

Thats the only thing I can do.

I cant search, gives me an error corde, when I try to manually enter a code like the formerly working 162.550 it works, other times it wont let me enter a 6 digit code.

Some times the lockout message goes away, but not sure how im doing it.

Either way scan doesnt work and I cant seem to input specific frequencies.

Any help is greatly appriceated

This may help: ICanWorkThisThing.com You may have turned off the banks you have programmed. This scanner will only let you enter 4 digits after the decimal, but you can enter more and it will round up.
the same is true for certain frequencies with a 5 as the last digit in the 4th digit after the decimal.

He likes the police and fire station channels so as long as I can get those programmed he'll be excited.
