Has anyone ever heard of a scanner being 25Khz off freuency..?

I have a BC895XLT and it has never been off frequency.

I sold on on e-bay and the person who bought it says that is is 25Khz off frequency on every band..When i had it it worked fine.I don't get it..

Maybe they meant 2.5 kHz off? They might need to change the tuning step by pressing the "STEP" button a couple times.
