BC Tool

I want to use BC tool to program my BC796D. I've hooked it up to computer using a USB to 9 point serial cable(9 point from scanner to USB to the computer) but it tells unable to detect scanner.Am I doing or using something wrong.Is there differnt programming program I should using for this scanner? I used BC tool for my BCD996t with no problems.

bctool can only be used for the 996 and the 396 and a few others. the list of scanners supported is in the link below

As mule pointed out the BCTool is only for the DMA scanners.

This is about the most versatile one for multiple models that I know of.

BCtool is not set up to handle the 796 (didn't you read that on the website???). Anyway, get ProScan it works with your 996 as well

Thanks ka3jjz that should work for me. I down loaded BCtool for my other scanner and it worked well, not till I tried it with BC796 did I realized it wasn't for that one. Thanks everone for their input.
