Looking at buying one of these two.
My location is in New Zealand.
UBC126AT from local dealer $320 NZ delivered.
BC125AT from Amazon $187.25 NZ delivered.
As I see it, it's the same unit with different programming.
As I will be setting this up via computer, why wouldn't I go for the cheaper option ?

The comparison is in a chart at Scan125 Control Program User Manual

The band plans are different although the Canadian plan is quite similar to the Australian/New Zealand plan. The details can be found by comparing the user manuals for the two radios.

The BC125AT has restricted frequency coverage. It does not receive 54-88MHz, 380-400MHz, 512-520MHz, and 806-960MHz while the UBC126AT does. Otherwise the radios are similar.

Definitely the UBC125AT. You'll need the VHF low band police and fire outside the three main centres - and you can't programme it to go outside the stated frequency bands by computer - I tried.
Recommend Nick's Scan125 programme but please RTFM to set it up initially.

I assume you mean the UBC126AT.
I'm updating all my stuff to PC programmable.
It's a battle with my fat fumbling finger on those little buttons.

If you decide to use Scan125 then I'm always here (well on my Scan125 contact Email address, see website) for any help you may need, bug reporting, feature requests etc.

Currently having problems getting hold of a UBC126AT
I'm being offered a USDS100 but it has more bells & whistles than I need.

I am pretty sure they have been discontinued. You may find one in stock at an Australian dealer if you have a hunt around, or maybe try Ebay.
The UBC125XLT is/was a European version. You might be able to find one in stock in the UK.

I knew the 125/126 series of scanners were being phased out but had not checked recently here in the UK. Sadly I can confirm that the three largest and most respected suppliers no longer list or stock the UBC125XLT scanner. They all only list the DJ-X11E.

DJ-X11E

Looks like available world wide. Supports remote control with free software from Alinco. Looks like all Analog only but covers all modes up to 1.3GHz.

I bought my UBCT126 from Andrews in Oz - they do not mention it on their web catalogue but there's no harm in asking.......might even get a run-out price!

I wasn't the price I was concerned about.
The seller appears to be in Italy and estimates delivery to my location in NZ May 16th - May 17th for $20.99 freight

I've contacted the seller, regarding delivery.
Waiting to hear back.
Can't see how they could get it to my location so quick in our current situation.
